Website Building Part 2

Okay we have covered Part 1 of what to do when you build out your website and what to look for. Let’s dive into Part 2 of things that you need to do during a website build.
What you need to build out your website

Your website is only as effective and successful as you make build it. To find out if it is really working for you one of the key factors to this is to analyze the data that comes in. What do I mean? If you are DIYing this website you may not know that you need to have tracking on this through multiple channels to understand what traffic and end user is coming to your website. Are you attracting the right audience?

You would be surprised at traffic results. You may get traffic from all over the world, however, that skews your data. So how do you know if you are doing the right thing when it comes to your website.

Website Tracking and Monitoring Your Analytics

We use several different platforms but one that is most familiar in the industry is the Google Analytics. Now grant you they are changing this around yet again. Starting next year, you will need to know how to set up and operate a G4 platform. This is a robust and super accelerated traffic monitoring.

First establish your account and then add the coding. From there you will need to review it monthly if not bimonthly to see what you need to tweak. Digital trends change all the time. Make sure you check it against the Core Web Vitals and that no shifts have been made in the website. No duplicate content and implementations such as HTTPS and 404 errors. If you already have a website but you are not sure about its overall performance or it’s grade, contact us for a quick review. We have several packages that work for you and with you to improve things such as speed, data and more.

What is your Call to Action? (Also known as the CTA)

Beautiful website full of amazing information and telling everything about you and your products. However, you have failed to give your end users something to do. That is called a “call to action”. What do you want them to do? Is your CTA predominate on every page? Whether that is to Contact you or download something you need to have this quickly available. Encourage them to do something other than read and bounce.

Having a website without a CTA is like sending a driving on a route that dead ends. So, what is your end game? What makes you money and leads to success? Otherwise, you run the risk of losing that business because they have no clue what they are to do once on your website.

Queen of Content vs. Fool of Proofing

Nothing says “I’m not professional” than a website loaded with misspelled words. Also include the mistaken verbiage, make sure you use the write words! See what I did there? Write-Right… easy mistakes can cost. There are even AI programs you can run on your website to catch spelling errors. While they won’t pick up the meaning of the word this is an easy step. Grammatical errors are costly in marketing. If you are blogging to be an expert in a field, I suggest you do this carefully. Now I get it we are all human and we make mistakes. I’m not talking about the ones you accidentally overlook or you but an exxtraa letter in them.
Not creating a well written blog

See I’m blogging! I’m not sure about the well written because I like to blog as if I’m talking to you because it’s me. My theory is we had enough classroom work as a kid, and I just don’t want to read dry tech stuff. I like to add a little fun to my blogs, a little of my sparkly personality. However, not having a blog hurts you. You can use the blog to do some keyword pushes for SEO. You can do the blog and post it on all your social media. Or just do the blog for fun and get a fan base.

But no matter what you do with our website, put a blog on there in a nice format so others can share.

Building Without Capturing

You should always build your website with the connection to your email provider. And going a step further make sure that your email has funnels. Those are to capture your leads and hold them there. If you don’t have a way to capture emails coming in, you do not have a way to market to them. Get on that… make sure you keep your list.
